DWS Opening for Modified Support, Showers, and Laundry Services
Missed having a tea and chat at DWS? Or borrowing an awesome feminist book? We’ve missed you too.
Keeping the safety of the Dawson community - especially elders and chronically ill folks - in mind, DWS will be reopening what are usually called ‘drop-in’ services - supportive listening, laundry, showers and resource library– in a modified way.
Details:
Women and non-binary folks can call DWS to reserve a two-hour time slot between 9:30am and 7pm each day – 867.993.5086.
Two hours gives enough time to wash and dry a load of laundry.
Modified drop-in services include supportive listening, laundry, showers and our DWS lending library.
We ask folks to come one at a time as our space is small and follow the six steps to staying safe:
Keep 2 meters away from others
Wash hands when entering the shelter
Stay home if you’re feeling sick
Don’t gather in groups of ten or more
Limit travel
Self-isolate when returning to Yukon or have been in contact with someone who has COVID-19
Can’t phone ahead? You can reserve your spot by emailing shelterdirector@northwestel.net.
Can’t Wait to Reserve My Spot!
Modified drop-in services begin this Saturday, June 27th. Please call between 9am-7pm to reserve your spot.
DWS’ emergency shelter and 24-hour support line never close! Please call if you are in immediate need of safe housing, supportive listening, or are worried about a friend – 867.993.5086.
DWS offers all of our services free of charge. Donate today to help support our work.
Never miss a post! Keep in touch with DWS…
