The Yukon Women’s Coalition was deeply saddened and distraught to hear of the multiple shootings in Faro. This act of violence has caused immeasurable grief that be felt by the victims, their families, the community of  Faro and throughout the Yukon. We extend to them our deepest condolences as they reckon with what occurred in their small community.

The Yukon Women’s Coalition denounces violence against women in all forms. We do not know for certain that this was an incident of domestic violence. Nonetheless, incidents of serious violence such as this have rippling effects in our small, tight-knit Territory.
