For 16 Days of Activism to End Gender-Based Violence, Dawson Women's Shelter is offering two three-hour workshops for community members.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOPS
It's Not Just Physical
Many folks want to help someone who is being abused, but don't know what to look for. Learn to recognize the signs of an abusive relationship and to think about gender-based violence past what we're taught in movies and TV.
When:
Tuesday, December 6th from 1-4pm
Wednesday, December 7th from 5-9pm
HELPING A FRIEND
It’s scary to think about our friends, relations, neighbours, classmates, and coworkers, being in danger or being hurt, but sadly we can’t choose who experiences violence and coercion. Learn skills to listen to survivors and offer helpful resources.
When:
Tuesday, December 6th from 5-9pm
Wednesday, December 7th from 1-4pm
