Dawson Women's Shelter is challenging all bar and restaurant staff in Dawson to participate in our Raise the Bar Workshops this summer to prevent sexual violence.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
We've all had that feeling in the pit of our stomach when something sketchy is happening at work and have wanted to help, but were unsure what to do. Learn skills to help guests have a better, safer night out using examples from bars and restaurants. We will practice recognizing and interrupting sketchy behaviour in a way that increases safety and decreases risk. The skills we learn at Raise the Bar are like first aid: we don't want to have to do CPR, but it's an essential skill to have. Our goal is to make things safer for everyone: staff and guests alike.
WHO?
This workshop is open to any hospitality workers at restaurants and bars in Dawson. If you're interested in a bystander intervention workshop for your workplace please connect with Crickett - crickett@dawsonwomensshelter.com.
