New Yukon Support Line Available for Survivors

The Sexualized Assault Response Team (SART) has created a Yukon-wide 24 hour support line for survivors of sexual violence and folks supporting survivors - 1-844-967-7275.

Emergency Cellphones Available

The global pandemic did not create gendered violence, but can create increased risks for survivors including isolation, lack of communications, and difficulty reaching out to friends and supports.

No matter how sexy someone is dressed. Not if they’ve had a drink. Not if they’re drunk. Not if they’ve had sex before. Not if they invited someone into their house or room. Not if they accepted a ride. Not if they’re on a date. No one ever asks to be sexually assaulted.

Community Announcement: COVID-19 and Keeping Safe at Dawson Women’s Shelter

In response to ongoing updates and information concerning the COVID-19 pandemic and directives from the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), DWS will be suspending all non-emergency services including drop-in laundry and showers, in-person programming, and prevention education workshops until further notice.
